Corrected typescript (2 volumes, 1306 pages) of an unpublished work by Whitsitt entitled "Sidney Rigdon, the Real Founder of Mormonism." Chronicles Rigdon's life, his conflict with Joseph Smith over certain of the doctrines of Mormonism, his subsequent formation of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints, and yet a second reorganization with Joseph Smith the younger.

Papers are actually undated 20th century transcriptions of two letters from Mormon missionaries found in the Evening and Morning Star (EMS), a monthly Mormon newspaper, in Ohio and Mich. The letters include one from Samuel Bent in Pontiac, Feb. 16, 1833, published in the April 1833 EMS, and a letter from Gideon (Simeon?) H.
